Although not federal “lands,” these federal marine protected areas— Channel Islands , Cordell Bank , Greater Farallones , Monterey Bay and Olympic Coast —provide critical foraging areas for seabirds. All only spend a small—albeit critical—portion of their lives on their breeding grounds.
