I suppose speciesism/human exceptionalism is at the heart of the matter. Kristof writes of the "decent and varied lives" that small farms provide animals with. Tags: Activism Economics Ethics Language. it's not so bad. I don't know how any person's soul can be considered fed at the expense of another sentient being.
