Leon D. Jenkins

Dr. Jenkins (Missouri ’62), 91, Lebanon, Missouri, died March 10, 2024. Following graduation, he worked in Marshfield, Missouri, for eight years. Dr. Jenkins subsequently practiced in Lebanon for 45 years. He also served as the official veterinarian for the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association for 15 years. Dr. Jenkins was a veteran of the Navy. His wife, Connie; two daughters, two sons, and a stepson; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren survive him.

Brandon Michael Mallard

Dr. Mallard (North Carolina State ’15), 35, Banner Elk, North Carolina, died December 20, 2023. Following graduation, he joined Halifax County Veterinary Center in Halifax, Virginia. Dr. Mallard is survived by his parents and a sister. Memorials may be made to North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Campus Box 7474, Raleigh, NC 27695.

Arthur Howard Mally

Dr. Mally (Iowa State ’61), 96, Lake City, Iowa, died October 4, 2023. Following graduation, he moved to Lake City, where he bought a clinic and began practicing mixed animal medicine. Dr. Mally subsequently added another practice in Lake View, Iowa. He retired in 2015.

Active in his community, Dr. Mally was a member of the Kiwanis and the Lake City Betterment Association and volunteered with the Meals on Wheels program. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Dr. Mally is survived by a son, a daughter, four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Memorials, toward a pet memorial garden, may be sent c/o Chelsey Mally, 58 East Ave., Winder, GA 30680.

Jennifer Ann McClain

Dr. McClain (Ohio State ’91), 68, Olmsted Falls, Ohio, died March 5, 2024. During her career, she practiced small animal medicine in northeast Ohio, most recently at the Friendship Animal Protective League in Elyria, Ohio. Dr. McClain had a special interest in shelter medicine. She is survived by two brothers and a sister. Jean Laura Meyer

Dr. Meyer (Washington State ’78), 73, Ridgefield, Washington, died April 7, 2024. Following graduation, she co-founded Mountain View Veterinary Hospital in Vancouver, Washington, with her husband, Dr. Thomas F. Meyer (Washington State ’78), a former president of the AVMA.

Dr. Meyer had a special interest in the human-animal bond. She was a member of the Washington State VMA. Dr. Meyer is survived by her husband, a son and a daughter, and three grandchildren.

Donald W. Williams

Dr. Williams (Ohio State ’70), 90, Eatonton, Georgia, died February 9, 2024. Following graduation, he moved to Bradenton, Florida, where he began practicing at Bayshore Animal Hospital. He later established Twin Oaks Veterinary Clinic in Bradenton. Dr. Williams was a veteran of the Navy Reserves. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons and a daughter; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
