So many immature birds utilizing a palette of brown and ecru, burnt umber, white and black. I was interested to see that Malling Olsen utilizes the ‘years’ approach to describing plumage (first winter, first summer, etc.) So many birds of white and gray touched with black. Not to mention the hybrids. It is also out-of-print.
