I see do much hatred spewed about cats constantly. I've seen social media posts where dogs have literally mauled the kid in the family to death, and posts about how a cat saved a lid from a dog and on these posts people are obsessively commenting that dogs are better than cats no matter what, or it's not the dogs fault.

I got a dog in May, and my cats have been great with her. Whenever she starts playing with someone, my cat comes over and starts meowing at her. He's not doing it in a threatening way, he's acting more like he's communicating with a kitten (my dog is slightly bigger than him though).

Actually, it surprised me more about cats -- dogs always seemed more attuned to humans. More than once I saw a cat that had been scared of a stranger understand that its owner or even just someone else it knew being friendly to that person meant that the cat was no longer afraid. I drew back and continued on my way.
