British-Funded Lab Under Investigation in Malaysia
Animal rights campaigners have accused the Progenix Research lab, which uses monkeys, dogs, rodents and rabbits for toxicology testing, of poisoning the animals to death. Malaysia, under pressure from animal rights activists, is going to investigate Progenix Labs.

A Trip to an Animal Lab
There was a poster in the lunch room with four cute animals (a dog, cat, rabbit and something else.) Well, kind of. It wasn't a full-fledged tour, but disturbing nonetheless. can't really talk about what I do except that I work in government. In a brief tour of a particular biotech research company, I was taken to the animal lab.

Rescue Spotlight: Rabbit Meadows
Rabbit Meadows is a rescue group out of Seattle. As the name suggests, they rescue rabbits, but they also rescue other small animals like ferrets, and other small rodents. They are undertaking a great project that sounds like it will be beneficial for both the sanctuary rabbits and the people who love them.

Burning Bunnies in Sweden
In Sweden, the way they deal with rabbit problems is to shoot them and burn them for fuel. The targeted rabbits are the unwanted inhabitants of capital Stockholm's parks, which are culled to protect the shrubs and trees which they gorge on. Tags: Sweden rabbits

Walmart Canada Pulls Rabbit Fur Slippers
The Animal Defence League of Canada got Walmart to pull slippers containing real rabbit fur off its shelves. Walmart (of all places) has a no-fur policy. The slippers are called Tender Tootsies. DON'T BUY THEM!

Woman Who Posted Picture of Herself Holding Two Dead Wet Rabbits Denies Drowning Them
The image, posted on Carlisle's Facebook page, appears to show her holding a soaked and drowned small black rabbit in each hand. Right. They died from heart disease. Carlisle is seen smiling in the photo and a comment on the social Internet site says the animals were euthanized through drowning. She's claiming it's all a big mistake.

But the decision to eradicate the felines from Macquarie island allowed the rabbit population to explode and, in turn, destroy much of its fragile vegetation that birds depend on for cover, researchers said Tuesday The intent was to protect birds by removing one of their predators: cats. What happened was something that hurt the birds worse.

Shelters Fill Up Due to Wildfires in Australia
ANIMAL shelters are searching for the owners of hundreds of dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and other pets displaced by fires. Pets have been displaced as well as their owners in the recent wildfires. Shelter workers fear many owners may have assumed their animals died or they could be looking for them in the wrong places.

Finally . . . Jasmine the Greyhound
It wouldn’t matter if it was a puppy, a fox cub, a rabbit or, any other lost or hurting Animal, Jasmine would peer into the box or cage and, where possible, deliver a welcoming lick.
