You can easily get there via public transport by taking the train to Lara from either Geelong or Melbourne if you do not have access to a vehicle. Hiding in plain sight just like they are all across Australia. Serendip Sanctuary is a 250 ha protected area that is near the You Yangs and the small town of Lara, Victoria.

It is very easy to reach Olympic Park by public transport and the fastest way is to take a train from Central Station to Lidcombe and then you take a train to Olympic Park. You can still stay in a hotel there and you can use the facilities. Aside from that-you can go birding!

There are two good day walks that start at either Berowra or Mt Kuring-gai train stations and they can be done in either direction.

Rock Warblers , or Rockwarblers or Rock-Warblers depending on which taxonomic order you are using for Origma solitaria are only found in a very small area of New South Wales in Australia. Their range is generally within 240 kilometres/150 miles of Sydney and you can access the areas quite easily by public transport.

Herdsman Lake is very good if you only have access to public transport and will offer great birds like Blue-billed Ducks and Musk Ducks , but if you have a vehicle you should try and visit the Perth Hills National Parks and also Yanchep National Park. Woodland Walk.

In Australia it is winter in July, but the weather is as perfect as you could hope for in the north of the country with daytime temperatures around 30c/86f and the night-time temperatures being around 20c/68f and rarely a cloud in the sky. It was an incredible time on the road and one which I will expand on over coming weeks.

We searched for walks that started and ended near public transport, as we were going to get a ticket- MyMulti 3 -that would let us travel wide and far unrestricted each week. I would recommend this if you are going to be out and about and most stations have regular trains all day including Sundays.
