Animal Person

I also saw two items of particular interest to the mission of Animal Rights and AntiOppression as well as Animal Person on the Interwebs: An introduction to "Deep Vegan Outreach" and an open letter from Dr. Ray Greek. What do you think about Deep Vegan Outreach?

Sowing the Seeds of Veganism

Animal Person

I was thinking about the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary calendar of rescued animals photographed by Deb Durant that's on my refrigerator. I could be reading into this, but it does appear that there's some discomfort on the part of non-vegans when they look through the calendar and I tell them the story.

I am a vegan who has adopted a diabetic greyhound who eats vegan food ( Natural Balance ), and who is adopting a boy from Russia. As a vegan, part of what I believe is that bringing animals onto this planet to use them as food or as pets isn't ethical.

On Changes in What Americans Are Attending To

Animal Person

I've been out of every loop I used to be in because my work outside of veganism and animal rights came a-calling in a most critical way. There are new Francione-style abolitionists and new people to veganism who debate about the ethics of consuming eggs from their neighbor's chickens. Yes, we have a long, long way to go.
