The new features are called “ Explore a National Wildlife Refuge ,” and they can be found in the “explore” tab under the “explore a region” sub-tab. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) recently proposed reintroducing California Condors in the Pacific Northwest. In 1806, Lewis and Clark saw condors near the Columbia River, which makes up much of the Washington-Oregon border. One management tool used by FWS is reintroduction of an endangered species into its former range.

Right, smack dad in the middle of Summer Lake Wildlife Refuge. Our 5th wheel and truck are parked in just about as close to the middle of this central Oregon refuge as possible. We were able to find a very nice RV park, just a couple of miles from one of my all time favourite birding hotspots, Billy Frank Jr, Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge.
