10,000 Birds

With my recent relocation to the central forests of Trinidad, I have been afforded the incredible opportunity of observing three oft-confused species in close proximity to one another. Frequently the field guide presents a curated selection of species on the same plate to illustrate key differences essential to nailing a positive identification. In reality these species are rarely in the same place at the same time, however!

Has anyone ever wondered why are humans so grossed out with the placenta?

Reddit Animals

Most animals in the animal kingdom don't mind the placenta. In birth videos, most of them lick it to clean the baby, and some even eat it. So why are humans so grossed out by it? I saw a video about a couple cooking their placenta to see how it tastes, and everyone on the comments was saying how horrible and disgusting that is.

Long 'nosed' tan fish on Canary Islands

Reddit Animals

So i remember when i was young i was eating in Tenerife or Gran Canaria with my parents with a view down to the sea. And with me being absolutely obsessed with animals, i was looking to see if i could see any fish non-stop during lunch. I deeply remember seeing a pretty large tan/light brown looking fish swimming by. It looked like a mix between a sawfish/-shark and a goblin shark because it had this long snout.

What are some amazing facts about crows?

Reddit Animals

There’s a reason why Ravens are associated with death and why they call a group of Crows a murder. When men went off to war they would often notice black birds leading them into battle, this wasn’t just a coincidence. Ravens and Crows are both scavengers and really smart. These birds are so smart that as scavengers they figured out that a bunch of men marching together in the same direction, in a certain formation almost always meant dinner was being served.
