Out Birding to Help an Endemic Sparrow in Costa Rica

Carman have organized a Birdathon to raise funds for the Cabanis’s Ground-Sparrow project. This year, they hope to raise funds to: Purchase more telemetry equipment and transmitters with a solar panel. They will be collected until June 16. Carry out workshops and train more people locally on how to do telemetry properly.

There was a Gartered Trogon right above me, and one cooperative Brown-throated Three-toed Sloth on a cecropia tree, raising its head to smile at us. A group (maybe 4-5 ex.) At the Pacuare river bank there was a group of rafters getting ready to tackle the noisy waves.

When not climbing, he collected species, and thus a number of birds are named after him. eBird gives the Indigo Flycatcher a very positive review, calling it a “beautiful little gem of a flycatcher” Apparently, Indigo Flycatchers mainly hunt in groups, as described here. Must have been a camera fault.
