The least common species of hummingbird I see here is the Calliope Hummingbird ( Stellula calliope ). She is the latest of our local breeders, not nesting usually until mid-May. She will begin breeding in April. Here you can see the female collecting nesting material. He also sports a brilliant orange-red gorget.

The third in the Nanhui collection of gloriously colored flycatchers is the Blue-and-white Flycatcher. In Alaska, they were found to mimic 30 different species ( source ).
