Each Beat Writer was given the opportunity to share their Best Bird of the Year for 2015 and, as usual, we had some pretty solid birds.

Then, in 2018, other researchers did DNA testing on the sample specimen and found it was just an ordinary Yellow-rumped Tinkerbird with some kind of slight color mutation ( source ).
