Puffin Trip in Maine

When Daisy started talking about a family trip to Maine for the long Memorial Day Weekend I had one thing on my mind: puffins! Atlantic Puffins are easier to see, and see well, in Maine than anywhere else in the United States. I spotted two puffins on the way out though they were distant and took off before we got close.

But on the other hand, there was so much more I wanted to do in 2012 … and wow, I really need to start buying gifts for my family and friends. On the plus side, it’s almost time for the Audubon Christmas Bird Count, and by all accounts, it’s shaping up to be a very finchy winter across much of North America.
