Aïthurus polytmus , a family of Red-billed Streamerbirds depicted in a print dated between 1820 and 1860 from the Special Collections of the University of Amsterdam. Well, even though it’s blended in Detroit, Michigan, Doctor Bird Jamaica Rum from Two James Spirits gives us just that. I can think of no higher honor.

Also interesting is that there is a relatively formal connection between historic families (you can think of these as “clans”) and regular use of specific trails or sets of trails. Many families or individuals live in the Twin Cities and have a cabin up north. But there is the Alexandria-Detroit Lakes axis, I suppose.

and the people who run it are almost like family. I think my absolute favorite is the Rio Grande Valley Bird Festival in Harlingen, TX. I try to go to that one every year whether for work or fun. The birds are fantastic (Green Jays, are you kidding me?) It’s kind of a mini birder reunion, because so many people go back yard after year.
