These gorillas live in groups of two to twenty and are extremely gregarious animals. A dominant male serves as the group leader. The hilly area between Nigeria and Cameroon is home to these gorillas. The face, hands, and feet don’t have any fur at all, though. They have cone-shaped heads, and a scarlet crest sits atop them.

I’m heading in a slightly different direction, focussing on a group we haven’t really looked at here before, but one that most people enjoy seeing, monkeys! Kibale National Park, in the west of the Central African nation of Uganda, is home to a 13 primate species, from Common Chimpanzees to bush-babies.

These charismatic, colorful and finely formed birds are favorites amongst birders from experts to novices, and lie within the group of birds whose beauty even non-birders really appreciate. The former occurs from Kakamega Forest in Kenya westwards to Cameroon and the latter from Cameroon westwards to Sierra Leone.
