She’s been spayed and her front paws have been declawed (I know that’s not a normal thing now, but back in the day that was fairly normal for people to do that to their cats). Actually, it surprised me more about cats -- dogs always seemed more attuned to humans. More than once I saw a cat that had been scared of a stranger understand that its owner or even just someone else it knew being friendly to that person meant that the cat was no longer afraid.
