Hello all, I came across this on the Human Society website: [link] It appears that the House of Representatives are looking to remove protections for certain animals in this case gray wolves and grizzly bears. We can contact our legislators to express our opposition.

Late last month, while searching for bears , woodpeckers and spirits of Greece, I deliberately avoided checking any news, especially from my home country. The animal slowly walked away from us, stopping every now and then to check on our behaviour. Every now and then, I need to cut the world off and clear my mind. One may say so.

One Nilgai – the largest of Asian antelopes and a few Sambar deer later, we hit a jackpot: there is one jackal-like animal sitting among the dry leaves! Well, one reason might be – this animal is not only endangered, but even rarer than the Tiger! These days, the species shares habitats with Tigers, Snow Leopard, Bears, etc.

First wolves, then polar bears, now beluga whales. And those are just the endangered animals (remember the turkey being ground up during her tv interview?) Her administration argues that that the belugas are faring just fine under the protections in place, and the population is even beginning to show signs of recovering.

To the Editor: Re “ Bearing Up ” (Op-Ed, Jan. Sarah Palin of Alaska, the scientific literature is very clear that polar bear survival is highly threatened in the wild. Because polar bears are at the top of the marine food chain, their bodies accumulate persistent organic pollutants that disrupt their reproductive systems.
