To the Editor: Re “ Ebola Imperils Gorilla Species in Congo Republic ” (news article, Dec. In 2003, I was in the sanctuary described in your article and collected samples from those dead animals. Historically, these diseases have been studied only when they affect human populations or domestic animals.

The book has garnered positive reviews in publications such as the New York Times , The Atlantic , and The New Yorker. Producing a dictionary, or a new edition of an existing dictionary, is a daunting task. Many individual species get an entry too, though they are generally not capitalized.

In the case of Acorn Woodpeckers, they are cooperative breeders (as with many other polygynandrous species), which seems to predispose species to polygynandry.
