Need Help Finding a Home for my Mothers Cats

Hello,

I hope someone can help me out or point me in the right direction.

My mother recently passed and she has two cats and one of which was her baby is very adoptable. She’s an older cat. I put her on the Nextdoor app and a few people told me she’s a Russian blue. She’s about 12 years old. She’s been spayed and her front paws have been declawed (I know that’s not a normal thing now, but back in the day that was fairly normal for people to do that to their cats).

This cat is super friendly come up to anyone. She’s very talkative. Very playful loves to be held constantly wants attention. she’s only been indoors her whole life and she’s not very good with other animals.

I’ve reached out to about about a million shelters, all around the Houston area. No one is taking any animals at this time. I haven’t found any shelters that’s willing to foster. I’ve even been reaching out to shelters of north to see if they work with any shelters in the Houston for transporting animals to their shelters up north. So far no luck.

If anyone knows of any shelters that work with shelters down the south or there’s a real possibility that they would take in an animal please let me know.

I have two cats already and I cannot take on the additional load. My stepdad is 79 and it’s just me and him after my mother passed. He’s selling the house and he’s moving out this weekend and I’m moving out on May 10. I’ve talked to a rescue organization this weekend and the person who runs the organization told me if I cannot find a home for the cat or a shelter that will take her in; it would be best to have her put down rather than release her into the wild and let her fend for herself.

I feel like right now. My options are terrible and terrible. Not sure which option to go with at this point, but I need to find a resolution by May 10th.

If someone is interested, please let me know. I can send you plenty of videos and pictures of the animal. We are getting all of her shots up-to-date this next Monday at a local clinic. I will be able to provide all of the documentation if we surrender her to a shelter or an individual.

Thank you for your time and reading this.

Kind regards,
