It’s Florida so he will never get justice.

That poor man.

As a Floridian, I would gladly drown if Florida could sink

I hate Florida so much more now. What absolute butts.

I don’t know much about law but this should be an easy lawsuit no?

These kind of snakes are decimating the Florida Panther population, there's just no coming back from it now, they are effectively extinct. And the Key deer isn't going to survive the literal pandemic of the python population now. I'm not condoning what happened to this one person and his snakes by any means. What happened to his snakes during hurricane Andrew? There was no law about microchipping them before that storm and the aftermath. Even zoos had no forethought as to what was going to be unleashed if a catastrophic situation appeared, apparently. And responsible people like this guy and his charges pay the price for all the irresponsible fucks that could care less. I'm not trying to be an ass, but if people love these types of pets, move to where these guys are native to the area. Don't bring them to a place like Florida (or any other place) with an already fragile ecosystem just waiting to be savaged by a non-native invasive species. This is the heartbreaking result. Absolutely 100% avoidable. And cudos to the FWC for the execution jobs. They must be so proud.

Seems harsh but I agree, animals should be kept in their own ecosystems to avoid problems like that. Nonetheless I don't understand why you blame the pet owner for this horrible and gruesome way to handle the situation.

I do not blame him in the least for deserving this type of treatment, period. Or the reptiles, I couldn't euthanize anything like that unless there was just no other choice and they were in devastating pain. Absolute scum did that fucked up shitshow. I have no idea how they are called wildlife officers. They clearly have no business being in that profession. But most people just aren't as responsible as he is, and although he has been above the cut of most reptile owners, he could have possibly lost specimens due to hurricane Andrew. Not his fault, honestly, but the very fragile ecosystem in South Florida was devastated by species from private and public owners who weren't able to secure their animals. Andrew was supposed to be a tropical storm by the time it hit S. Florida. Do you guys realize the south Florida has a green and black momba population? Thank you to the Miami Zoo! And the pythons have migrated all the way to New Jersey, 60 Minutes did an entire hour long show about it a few years after Andrew. Pythons in NC coiled up in the tops of pine trees, kind of hibernating in the very cold weather at that time

I feel like there must have been a lot else going on that's being left out of the story here. Why did the dude need to rehome 120 snakes??? It sounds like a horrible hoarder situation and usually the animals in such homes are not well taken care of. It could be a matter of need to put them down for their own sake rather than 'illegally killing' them.
