Random thought that came up to me

If we had the technology / medecine to make some animals, namely pets like cats or dogs, remain a kitten/puppy all their life, because it's cuter or something, would it be considered unethical ?
Also we'll assume this cant work on humans to avoid this debate.
(This is a genuine question pls dont think i'd support it if it was)

Sure that was the plot of Boss Baby....

Seriously though, do you mean purely appearance? Because there are breeders out there who try to do this. Generally, it ends up with animals with genetic defects.

Personally, no. Life has different stages. My cat is officially a senior now and although he was a cute kitten (yes, yes, all kittens are cute), he's happy and healthy, he's less needy, and his personality is well developed. I wouldn't want a pet that was forever in the baby stage.

Just because something is unethical doesn’t mean we won’t do it.

Look at all the things we do to livestock. Is tossing day old male chicks into a meat grinder considered ethical? Probably not but we do it. Is keeping pigs in crates where they can’t turn around considered ethical? No but we do it.
