Wth is outside my house?

So I heard a lot of incredibly loud repetitive whooping sounds (kind of like a hyena, only here in North Carolina). Right after the whooping there's what sounds like a loud cough, but I'm sure is the sound of some animal, maybe wounded. Basically I I think wild animals had a fight right outside my yard but I can't identify them on these sounds. I tried to post a video but I can't... Can anyone tell me?

Okay so pretty sure the coughing sound I heard was a deer but I don't know if the whooping sound was maybe coyotes?

It’s the sound that raccoons make

Coyotes don't whoop they bark and sound like a small(er) sized dog.

Try to PM me the video and I'll try and ID it for you. I grew up hunting and still do so I'm pretty familiar with the noises every eastern US animal makes.
