Help with an abbandoned kitten

Help with an abandoned kitten

Hello reddit, today i found an abbandoned kitten on a road near my house , and i spent the whole day nursing it, the kitten is really active and runs around, but i wanted to ask what is the best course of action as it's really small and seems to be injured near it's mouth , also what should i feed him? I have been giving him cow milk and since it took the initiative to run to a bowl of cat food for my other cats and eat from it on it's own i also gave him some cat food wetted with milk to make it easier for him

The stores sell kitten food as well as milk specific for kittens. If you cannot afford to bring him/her to a vet you should at minimum keep a close eye on his/her possible injury. If I were you I would try to keep him/her away from your cat's food as you are unsure of the overall health of the kitten.

Cow’s milk is bad for cats, they’re actually lactose intolerant (although kittens tolerate dairy better than adults) You can buy kitten milk or kitten food that’s softer/smaller pieces. I’d try and get him/her to a vet if you can and keep away from your other cats. You don’t know if she/he has had vaccinations, might be sick etc.

Thank you for taking them in you kind soul :)

Cow milk is bad for cats. Get some kitten milk, or if you can’t, mix chicken or turkey cat food with water. You shouldn’t let the kitten share food or water or a litter box with your other cats until it’s checked by a vet.
