your personal life starts to suffer as a result of taking on the animals suffering. you stop having fun because you feel guilty when there are so many animals currently suffering. Following is a telepathic conversation I experienced while transporting dogs to a rescue. you lose interest in social activities and friends.

The eagle was so hypothermic I was reluctant to put her in a transport box. We all thought the kindest approach would be to end her suffering, but then…she raised her head and looked directly at me. I put a blanket over her shoulders, as if she were an injured, elderly person, and carried her back to the truck.

Virtually everyone agrees that: (1) It is wrong to cause a conscious sentient animal to suffer for no good reason. Causing an animal to suffer for no good reason is cruel, and our ordinary commonsense morality tells us in no uncertain terms that cruelty is wrong. Most people hold that it is wrong to cause animals unnecessary suffering.

The sharp strings are a menace to passing birds – especially kites and other raptors – who cannot see them and sometimes suffer grievous, if not fatal, wounds. Unwilling to leave the suffering birds to die, they began bringing them home, asking veterinarians to make house calls, and keeping the recuperating birds on their roof.
