I always side with the snake during mongoose-snake encounters. People all over the YouTube comment sections always talk about the bravery and heroism of mongooses. Do these people not realize mongooses naturally kill snakes and often eat them? Not the mongoose. That means the snake is the underdog. Yes, I get it.

Yet, in 1990s India has killed more than 99% of its Gyps vultures (e.g. Oddly, I saw no rats, only a mongoose or two and a few stray dogs. Now, asking for vultures in India is a bit like asking your safari guide to show you a leopard. Not for the same reason, although. Leopards are hard to spot because they are elusive.
