When you think of invasives, you think of the birds that have been helped by human beings to get where they are, such as House Sparrow or European Starling. Cattle Egret has been introduced by humans to Hawaii and the Seychelles. Other species have certainly expanded their ranges, but never in such a rapid and global scale.

Both species had undergone massive declines since the arrival of humans and where in a perilous position in the 1970s. The Black Robin was restricted to a single tiny island off the Chathams, and apparently had been for decades, with a world population of around 30 birds.
