” The website www.jwcpheasants.com seems to endorse polygamy for this species despite this being illegal in the USA for other animals such as humans. Unlike me, the HBW does not seem to appreciate the species much, stating that it is “hopping about in very ungainly manner.”

When I read the description of the Mulga Parrot on a pet website, I first thought it was an advertisement for Thai mail-order brides: “The exotic appearance of the Mulga Parrot might be what attracts you first, but it’s their personality that will win you over” ( source ). Like the figbird, it mostly feeds on fruit.

Everyone talks about human rights and there exists so many groups that are either governmental or non-governmental who work toward that cause. Consider this: ninety percent of birds treated at wildlife centers are admitted as a result of human interactions that have nothing to do with “nature.” Our world has changed, and humans have created that change. Wildlife no longer exists in the same way it did before humans came on the scene. The difference seems obvious.

Another paper reviews information on Oriental Pied Hornbills raiding the nests of various bird species in Singapore and even pet bird cages. One paper describes them breeding in a human settlement in abandoned clay jars. Other threats arise from illegal logging, hunting for bushmeat, and other body parts (feathers, beak, etc.)

Similar to the (fortunately now gradually changing) situation among humans in China, these birds seem to prefer males over females. So, I can only give you the sanitized version of the joke, in which humans have been replaced by birds. My late father had a few jokes that he liked to repeat frequently, which in itself was kind of funny.
