On "Compassion," "Nonviolence" and "Justice"

Because I've been thinking about the evolution of my own thinking--and languaging--regarding animal rights. Both animal rights groups and animal welfare groups use "compassion" frequently. Then again, so do people who kill animals for a living. No matter how they are treated, is it right to use them?

On Dominance and Animal Birth Control

When taking the issue to simplest common denominator, spaying/neutering is essentially exercising human dominance over non-human animals. And when the option is rounding them up and killing them, TNR looks like an especially attractive option. And this is one of them. But who cares about me? What do you all t hink?
