Unfortunately, a record number of horses are now going to Canadian and Mexican slaughterhouses, where there is no USDA control over animal welfare conditions. I don't support the slaughter of any animal, but if an animal will die anyway, don't we want the best possible conditions? I just don't know. He's such a douchebag.

A column entitled "Ag Industry Threatened by Animal Rights" appeared in today's High Plains/Midwest Ag Journal [ HPMAJ ]. According to the HPMAJ column, Stenholm is also concerned about the inroads being made by animal rights advocates where farm animals are concerned. News flash: Slaughtering horses does not promote their welfare.
