Funny lady Ellen DeGeneres and rescue group Farm Sanctuary both want you to Adopt-A-Turkey this Thanksgiving! Says DeGeneres: “Did you know that every year between 250 and 300 million turkeys are bred for slaughter in the United States? Elizabeth, who demurs “This Thanksgiving, give a turkey the royal treatment;”.

He asked whether cows, chickens, sheep and some of the other animals that we eat are usually treated and killed in a humane manner. The meat industry will say yes, of course, all animals are treated and killed humanely. In other words, the proverbial happy farm animal. Here is my opinion.
