I come from a large family: five sisters, two brothers and almost everyone has kids. Most of my family lives in Indiana, but thanks to social media we can easily keep in touch. Case in point: some of my family members have become active with feral cat colony organizations. I have mixed feelings about TNR.

As is quite apparent from the video, whether you have a dog, cat, horse or rabbit they quickly become a big part of the family regardless of their size. Veterinary fee’s can run into the hundreds of pounds if not thousands and with many families struggling to make ends meet as it is, some are left with little option but to put their pet down.

We tried to find a rescue group to take the little family so they could hopefully find a loving home. So here is a bit of a reminder to please spay and neuter your pets… it’s so sad that these gorgeous kittens won’t know the fun of having a human servant!

Adoption fees are being waived for this event, and adoptable animals will be spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, and provided an ID tag free of charge. Approximately 300 others include those being boarded by families temporarily displaced and animals not yet ready for adoption, such as newborns and injured animals.

Your dog’s instinct is to protect the family. Spay or neuter your dog. When a carrier comes to your home, keep your dog inside, away from the door in another room. Don’t let your child take mail from the carrier in the presence of your dog. Neutered dogs are less likely to bite.
