African swine fever (ASF) has not entered the U.S. thanks to continuing efforts to prevent this deadly swine disease from reaching the country’s borders. However, ASF continues to affect swine herds globally, entering five new European countries in 2023. Countries have been forced to slaughter herds, ban imports on pig products, and implement greater biosecurity measures on farms.

Serious birders may have an obsessive interest in birds, but one thing they universally don’t like are birds which, they believe, aren’t properly wild. It’s taken a long time for the purists to get used to the numerous Red Kites we now have in England, all descended from captive-reared birds that were released initially over 30 years ago. Pheasants, released in great numbers for shooting, are regarded with disdain, while nobody has a good word to say about the flocks of Rose-ringed (Ring-necked)

My sister's dog gave birth 2 days ago and we've been paying close attention to her puppies since. Each time one of them finishes feeding or sleeping, we would move them so that they wouldn't have to spend do much effort on it. What i mean by "moving" exactly is, for example, that one of them finishes sleeping, then me or my sister takes the puppy from the sleeping zone and moves the dog's belly so it can start feeding again.

Drs. Carol G. Ryan and Michael P. Lent were declared elected to the AVMA Board of Directors (BOD) in February after running unopposed for two open seats. Drs. Ryan and Lent begin their terms on the Board this June during AVMA Convention 2024 in Austin, Texas, and will serve until 2030.

Like a snail and horse fly, but I brought up what I think could be a pretty crazy animal and would be a pain in the ass. If it was a real thing. Hello. ⚠️ Photos might be uncomfortable to look at, so please don't click if you're not comfortable looking at skin bruises etc. I'm posting the ones without any bleeding, but her wounds usually bleed moderately. This is our big girl. She has been dealing with this kind of skin infection that has been ongoing for almost a year. Her fur has been falling of because of the wounds.

It simply does not fit the bill. Yes. they are venomous enough on their own to kills most predators. If they allowed natural selection to take place, they would have developed a more obvious form of mimicry - this would indeed be müllerian mimicry But that's obviously not what's going on. As a primate, the Loris was smart enough to figure out, that it can imitate Indian cobra to avoid predators.

My cat attacking a Pigeon and thankfully I was able to stop him but the pigeon has a back injury,I tried to feed him/her water and food but it isn't eating and it can't walk properly either ? I put a cloth over him but he/she's just sitting there blinking. What do I do? And how long will it take for him or her to heal?? this is kind of stressing me out cuz I feel so bad for it.if I didn't have a cat he/she wouldn't have to suffer this pain so uhm pls help me ??
