More than 140 veterinary professionals and veterinary students were on Capitol Hill as part of the AVMA’s annual legislative fly-in this February, pressing lawmakers to pass legislation concerning healthy dog importation and rural veterinary shortages.

I think we don’t give vultures all the love they deserve. When you consider all the nasty stuff they uncomplainingly dispose of, and what the world might look like if they didn’t, it seems we could be more grateful. I, however, am a fan of vultures. I have been lucky enough to get close views of two massive Old World Vulture species, the Eurasian Griffon and the Egyptian Vulture.

In 2009 I met my best friend. She was a black cat about 2-3 years old. She had ran into someone’s house when it was raining one night and he took care of her until eventually he had a baby and the baby was allergic- so she was just confined to a room. She moved from house to house but no one was treating her the way she deserved. She really wanted a one on one relationship- so I was a young man and it was perfect.

I was bit by a dog that broke through the fence while walking by and made a report to animal control but does anyone happen to know how long it takes for animal control to come out and investigate in ATX? And what will happen to the dog next?
