Among them are Federal Duck Stamps and related waterfowl conservation programs. There are several funding sources for the MBCF, but two predominate: (1) Duck Stamp sales, and (2) import duties on arms and ammunition. Thus, Duck Stamp money goes into the MBCF and the MBCC decides how to spend those funds.

In particular they evoke the New Hampshire lake my extended family descends upon each summer and has done so from before I was born. So I was particularly pleased when one of the last birds I saw was a Spot-billed Duck, a local bird and lifer. A new duck! There’s an Indian Spot-billed Duck.

The nature of this field guide limits the number of photographs showing birds in flight, and age, gender, and seasonal forms. But, there are more than you might expect.
