Jumping out of my “Beat” today

Let me start off with being quite clear, there are no grizzly Bears on the Baja! In addition to the Grizzly Bears , I was able to photograph Woodland Buffalo , squirrels, deer, Red Fox , and even a herd of Yaks. Long-tailed Duck. The number one bird on my list was the iconic Horned Puffin. Glaucous Gull.

These refuges support huge numbers of swans, geese, ducks, cranes, and shorebirds as they hopscotch their way to breeding grounds in the north. Additionally, funds from Duck Stamps allow the System to gradually expand , as FWS purchases land and obtains conservation easements from willing sellers. (A It’s not just for the birds.

We have a small resident population of Black-bellied Whistling Ducks. While in Kodiak Alaska, I did get a few very nice Kodiak Grizzly Bear shots. This large bear was chasing salmon, and paid me little or no attention. I don’t get to see them very often, but they showed up early one morning near the tidal flats.
