Or paid for food for a year at a rescue kennel. Of course, I have an emotional attachment to that one individual, Violet Rays. The average person doesn't fund programs that cost $8,000 per cat. Or printed thousands of copies of vegan leaflets. Helping individuals, financially-speaking, isn't a great use of money.

Before emotions take over, you need to dig deep into the rational part of your brain. Can you afford to keep your dog in a kennel for that duration? Ask questions. Is it even fair to get a dog?
