Bad news for horses in the US. Horses could soon be butchered in the U.S. Congress lifted the ban in a spending bill President Barack Obama signed into law Nov. It did not, however, allocate any new money to pay for horse meat inspections, which opponents claim could cost taxpayers $3 million to $5 million a year.
