Being technically outside the summer tourism season, one can enjoy the somewhat less expensive travel and hotel costs, less crowded venues, great weather and nearly endless daylight—and of course many birds migrating and beginning the breeding/nesting season! Because I am relatively new to birding, this resource proved to be invaluable.

Seabird City Spectacular

We have around two thirds of the world population of Gannets, along with internationally important numbers of Guillemots, Puffins, Razorbills, Kittiwakes and Fulmars. After being killed they were plucked and salted for consumption during the winter. These birds are all cliff nesters. I hate to think what they tasted like.
