This represents 6% of the estimated mid-continental spring population of 322,700 birds for the same two decades. Kills in Canada, Alaska and Mexico are not included in the count. What about all the other birds that die from inexperience, disease, natural predation and accidents?

If the nest was in a bird house, open the house and check the damage. Do not worry about touching the baby birds. The adults of most species will still care for the chicks no matter how much you touch them. Above are Canada Goose goslings. Try to get it too another family group or contact a wildlife rehabber.
