To reach Prespa Lakes, from Niki continue through Florina, from there right for Albania and veer right for the lakes. Head for the sea only when you fully recharge your batteries. If heading to the Kerkini, two kilometres after the border take the left turn for Serres and drive until you spot the lake on you right hand side.

The Prespa Lakes National Park in Greece is well hidden among the mountains at the triple border with Albania in the west and the FYRO Macedonia in the north. The mountains are more than 2300 metres high, while the lakes lie at the lowest point of the park, at 850 m a.s.l. Coming from the northeast, there are two tarmac roads leading there.

Squacco Heron – the same as previous, from the left Danube bank levees, also the Veliko Blato Lake (Mika Alas fish farm in the suburb of Krnjaca, #3). Several pairs have chosen the Albania Palace, a high-rise at Terazije St. Little Bittern is a reed-bed skulker and much harder to observe. The best spot is the Reva Pond #6.
