Birding Villahermosa’s Urban Parks

I photographed the first of only two Northern Parulas ever reported in my state, way back in 2013. This was only my fourth encounter with the species (all on the east side). He should have visited my home last month, when both species were visiting my birdbath almost daily. But obviously, I haven’t seen one since then.

Review Classic: The Warbler Guide

The taxonomy may have changed a bit since the guide was published in 2013, but the warblers are still the same, giving us extreme joy while driving us crazy as we try to identify them high in the canopy or zipping amongst lower branches. Rereading this review, I see that I was not sure if this was a good guide for beginning birders.
