The Domestic Turkey and the First Thanksgiving

Long before that time Mexican domesticated Turkeys had been adopted by Native Americans in the American Southwest as well. Thus, the cattle we raise for meat and dairy are sometimes called Bos taurus while the extinct wild form is always called Bos primigenius. I find that a little surprising since it is our national bird. 78(1):61–78.

Birding Sarajevo or the sentimental journey home

And in the middle of a heatwave of the 2012 summer, I was heading to Sarajevo and Jahorina Mountain, a major venue of the 1984 Winter Olympics. Hence, I had to adopt a new one.
