The male shown in the video above, filmed at Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge, was in the process of gathering nesting material for what usually adds up to a dozen to two dozen nests! I shot this video of the male bringing in the nesting material and arranging it within the nest before flying back out to a branch to sing.

Even as a veteran wildlife rehabilitator, I could scarcely believe the sight before me. Once you watch this video , you’ll want to vote for her every day. The eagle was so hypothermic I was reluctant to put her in a transport box. Instead, I put heated pads under her wings and held her as Megan drove back to REGI.

Although Peregrines are famous for hunting birds from above by stooping down on them, they use several other means of attaining prey and are most active at dawn and dusk.

Depending upon the size of the feather, the connector could be a wire, a toothpick, a sliver of plastic, or – in this big girl’s case – two sizes of bamboo skewers. I knew imping was possible, but had never actually tried it.

Google the name of your town, followed by “wildlife rehabilitator.” Call your vet and ask who takes care of injured local wildlife. Somebody found him by the side of the road.
