He came to OCFA totally flea infested and with a few open wounds. One wound (the one on his front right leg) was to the bone. He has been vetted and is healing nicely. Like many poor people in Morocco, Humar’s owner had little chance of being able to afford a vet – or even find one close by.

The DDF will be raising $20,000 for the training and care of a service dog (including medical bills, training and food) which will be donated to one lucky war vet from the FSD group. The vet who is awarded the service dog will be choosing the winning raffle ticket for the Jeep on September 11 at a ceremony (location TBD).

And after a $250 vet trip it became this--. What we couldn't see until her leg was shaved was that next to the deep wound is a large bloody bump of a wound. Charles Hobson Booger, III has been to I believe 4 vets (some several times) and hasn't been able to use his back right leg for 5 months (and yes, atrophy has set in).
