Why and how do people campaign on behalf of a species that is not their own? The norm of moderate concern for animals - that animals matter albeit less than humans - permits the (ab)use of animals in vivisection, factory farming, bloodsports and other contexts where animals suffer. Sounds interesting.

Whenever the media report that someone has killed "an endangered animal" or "an endangered species," they too confuse an individual with a species. Hunters kill members of endangered species. Conversely, animals who are personally safe are not endangered, even if they belong to an endangered species (14).

Juluri's focus on animals used to entertain humans is intentional and speaks to the legal battle he refers to. And finally, who is to decide when a video is entertaining versus informative?
