I also really love the sea turtle, and the “petting” area where you can touch little sharks and rays. The other thing that I love about the aquarium is the section that has Utah endangered species! Penguins are one of my favorite things to visit at the aquarium.

We had three species of storm-petrel keeping us busy: Wilson’s Storm-Petrel , Band-rumped Storm-Petrel , and Leach’s Storm-Petrel. The latter two species were a pleasure as I had only previously made their acquaintance during Hurricane Irene. a beautiful dawn sky. And what birds! storm-petrels feeding next to the boat.

Oil begins to wash up on the beaches throughout May and June of 2010 May 6, 2010 Oil washes ashore on the Chandeleur Islands off the Louisiana coast, an important nesting and breeding area for many bird species. Officials reported 48 marine mammals, mostly dolphins, and 87 dead sea turtles during the first two months alone.

In the time we spent on Culebra I saw 49 species of birds, not bad for an island outside of the wintering grounds for most neotropical migrants and only measuring eleven miles square. Sea turtles can be seen from the beach or while snorkling at Tamarindo Beach, especially if you go early in the morning.
