There is no philosophical continuum, but there is a psychological continuum, as evidenced by everyone at the workshop taking steps back or forward, denoting their increase in animal use (including no meat to meat, or backsliding, like I did a decade ago), or their decrease (such as when vegetarians go vegan). The most common cause of lick granuloma is psychological, usually due to stress, boredom or a compulsive behaviour. Lick granuloma is a serious skin problem in dogs and occurs when dogs continuously lick a certain area, which then becomes inflamed and sore. It tends to be most common on the legs; however any area can be affected.

These families dress their monkeys, feed them at the dinner table and treat them like any other member of the family. My definition of violence would begin with the physical harm of living beings. and then there's "Is that okay with you?"

At one time or another, in mountain villages, actual children may have been actually attacked by eagles — either adults defending their nests or juveniles who had not yet learned to judge the size of their prey.
