In 1974 we shipped four times as much food to Cambodia and South Vietnam as to starving Bangladesh and Swahelian Africa. For example, protesting the government’s food policies by wearing buttons, putting ads in the New York Times , or writing one’s congressman would seem to have greater educational value than not eating meat (question 2).
