Mardis Gras, New Orleans, Hurricane Katrina, crawfish, oil production, coastal erosion, chemical plants; all encompassed within one state and a whole lot of coastline. It’s that coastline, however, that called me to Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge, an oasis drawing migrating waterfowl like a magnet.

Central London Shop Raided for Illegal Wildlife Products

Detectives seized 200 products believed to be made from endangered animals including musk deer, leopards and tigers. The raid took place on the day an amendment to the law controlling illegal trade in endangered species came into effect. From the Telegraph.
